First night out. Taylor made her way through the docks. She ought to be able to find some gang members HERE! First night out, and nothing...how was she ever going to be a hero at this rate? And then, she senses it. The outermost edge of her power. Some flies landed a group of gangbangers a block and a half away. She could tell because some of them had baseball bats, and there was the distinct smell of heroin. What should Taylor do? Get closer? Climb on a building and send some more bugs over to see what's going on? What?

Taylor wasn't sure what to do. She was nervous, feeling a little awkward in what was basically a jumpsuit and a face mask, and she had no idea how she was going to approach the gang. What if they were actually part of some russian mafia, and she accidentally got caught up in a mafia war- no! Today, today was the day that she was going to become a hero. Somehow. Okay, survey the scene, climb a building, and send some more flies over to see what's up. Receiving messages through compound eyes was only a little bit confusing after all. Fly Number One -she called him Fred- told her that the gangsters were shrouding around in an alleyway, but it was pretty blurry. Fred also said he smelled burgers.

Taylor chanced a glance around the corner. They were all Asian, so ABB. One taller than all the others. Much taller. Fred got close, and informed her that he was producing a lot more heat, too. The taller man was speaking, but it was hard to hear him from so far away. Taylor moved onto a fire escape, and on top of a building to get closer. She now looked down on all the gang members. He had a strong accent, as well, which meant Taylor had to wait until he had spoken a few sentences before she could figure out what he was saying. It helped that his mooks were utterly, respectfully silent as he spoke. He was snarling, “…the children, just shoot. Doesn’t matter your aim, just shoot. You see one lying on the ground? Shoot the little bitch twice more to be sure. We give them no chances to be clever or lucky, understand?” Someone else lit up a cigarette, and then leaned over to light a cigarette for the guy next to him. In those moments that his hand wasn’t cupped around the flame, Taylor could see the gathered faces of just a dozen or so of the gangsters gathered around the large man. In hands, waistbands and holsters, Taylor could see the dark metal of guns reflecting the orange flame. There was a burned carcass of a dog on the ground. Well, that would explain the smell of "burger."
Taylor, it's time to make your move. You are on a roof in the middle of the docks, which are almost entirely abandoned by average civilians. Thirteen gangbangers sit below you, in an alley. One of them is very large and in-charge.

Taylor listened carefully to the gangsters. Even she could smell the rancid scent of "burger", but the reaction of Fred and the other flies implied a carcass more than actual burgers. Groooooss! Okay, she needed to formulate a plan of attack. But what? Her heart pounding in her chest, she analyzed the scene as closely as possible. There were thirteen of them, each wielding guns. The biggest one was who she was most concerned about. She didn't understand what they were talking about, but shooting children wasn't on her "Nice list." She focused on the tiny bodies around her, summoning them to her control. Bodies crawled towards the gangsters, teeny bodies, buzzing bodies, flying bodies.
Mentally focused on the targets below, she summoned the swarm: Spiders, flies, moths, ants, mosquitoes; anything that was nearby. There were hundreds of mosquitoes at her control, more than happy to dive towards the gangsters and harass them. The flies buzzed around their heads, distracting them from the creepy-crawlies getting closer. Taylor didn't move from her spot on the roof. There was no way in hell she'd survive a fight against any of those gangsters! Besides, anybody about to go shoot children deserved to have ants and spiders crawling up their bodies.

Twelve bloodcurdling screams lit up the night. The gangsters scattered. The swarm had dropped. As the thousands of insects and arachnids swarmed over and around the group, Taylor could almost see the outlines of each person, just by sensing the shapes of the surfaces the bugs were crawling on, or the areas the vermin wasn’t occupying. Four ran down the alley, choking on mosquitoes and covered in stings. One fell in anaphylactic shock. Uh oh. She probably should of thought of that. She sensed the fire through the swarm before she realized what she was looking at with her eyes. Her power told her of the bugs’ recognition of the heat, but she didn’t even have time to devote conscious thought to block out the instincts the fire set in motion before the damage was done. The primitive thought processes of her bugs were reduced to confused impulses to alternately flee and to pursue the heat and the light they so often used for navigation. Many bugs died or were crippled by the heat. As the swarm scattered, Taylor finally recognized the taller man. He was now eight and a half feet tall, instead of eight, and spotted with shiny silver scales which were popping up all over his body. Where the bugs bit him, he quickly healed. He now looked like his picture on Parahumans Online. She now recognized him as Lung. Pokedex Voice Lung is the leader of the ABB. He has a power that lets him gradually transform over the course of a conflict, gaining armor plating, enhanced strength, regeneration, claws, enhanced pyrokinesis, superhuman senses, and other benefits. At the most extreme end of his transformation, he is capable of trading blows with an Endbringer, though he has only participated in one such fight. Recommended elimination tactics: Either take him out early, or run.
So now what, Taylor?

Taylor silently cheered at how successful her swarm had been, even if many perished in the fire. Oh well. Bugs reproduced quickly. They left behind only one big baddie- a humongous man she knew to be Lung. She noticed that he wasn't very well covered, actually a lot of skin was exposed... Including the special parts. She could either run now while he didn't know where she was, or try and take him quickly. Her fight-or-flight instinct told her to run, but the other half of her that wanted to be a hero told her to summon another swarm.
She didn't even move from her spot. Feeling for the spiders again, especially the Latrodectus genus -or "Black Widows"-, Taylor unleashed a second swarm of three hundred black widows onto Lung's groin area.

Compared to this, those bloodcurdling screams earlier were nothing. Lung fell to the ground, roaring. Fire wreathed him completely, but it was too late. The damage was done. Lung felt his legs give out, and he fell to the ground. He is unconscious, but Taylor can already see his healing abilities going to work. Who knows how long 'till he wakes up? The gang members, meanwhile, have either all scattered or fallen. Now what?

Taylor's eyes widened, noticing that Lung's groin was quickly healing. She didn't think twice about fleeing while she still had the chance! No way was she going to be dragon food!

Taylor found herself back in her room, hiding under the sheets. She'd bolted as fast as possible away from the scene, not even giving her actions a second thought until now. Her heart pounded, anxiety pumping through her. What had she done? Had she really just summoned a swarm of spiders to bite off a dragon's balls? What was she going to do if he came back? He was totally going to eat her for that, and she couldn't blame him! Oh, what was she going to do- no! Don't feel sorry, she definitely did the right thing! That monster was ordering children to be slaughtered! Children! What type of thing does that? They're children! Yes, he definitely deserved what he got, there was no question about that.
Eventually, Taylor fell asleep completely covered by her blankets. She almost resembled a caterpillar in its cocoon. Almost.
